The mini mun needed by the lab is a half inch , they will say they need 1.5 inches but that is just to get a longer window. at 1.5 inches they take 80 strands , at 1 inch its 100 strands and at .5 inches its 120 strands. they can not go past 90 days because it is regulated and all samples must be the same by weight. so 1 month min. 3 months max even if your hair is 5 feet long , trust me i have 7 years of of personal experience.

∙ 9y agoIt is potentially possible to go back as far as the hair is long, whatever length of time the hair has been growing. Most Hair Drug Testing Labs only go back 90 days though. This is the time frame thought to be most accurate.
Some people say 6 months, a year, or the day you were born, which is not true.
