Just put the AMS slow bleed lifters and tapered pushrods in mine sounds alot better , only have about 50 miles on them, but they are making me happy so far. this is after the engine was rebuilt it was still making noise ,so the after talking to the dealer we tried AMS. not sure how it will be in high temps yet, since its only been in the high 50s.

Have a good friend with a Jim's 120 in his 2005 Supper Glide (the sleeper  ;D) He's got a Leineweber high lift cam and fought a noisy top end since day one.. He has tried almost every lifter out there and claims Woods and Fueling being the worst. He recently installed a set of Delkron off set rocker supports and a set of Black Ops lifters. I can attest, his motor purs like a kitten,, absoutley no tappet noise. Not sure if the off set rocker support or the Black Ops did the trick or maybe the combination of both  :nixweiss:.. If and when i get around to rebuilding i defiantly will follow his lead..

When you referenced the Woods lifters " being the worst" were you referring to the new Directional" lifters or one of the older designs?

Im not sure,  :nixweiss: i know he tried the Woods and the Fueling Aug of 2009, I'll send him an email and ask. He installed the Delcron off-set support block and Black Ops last month.

If it was back in 2009 it definitely was not the Woods new directional lifter since this lifter was only released in the summer of 2010.

You're right, I just got Dan's email reply. He said the Directionals were not even out when he tried the Wood's lifters. He said he intend to try the new Directional's on his last go around but got pissed off with someone at Wood's Performance trying to sell him a new cam and a set of lifters... He had other things to say about the Wood's guy, but I'll leave it out of this posts.. I guess the moral is, the guy was wrong and just after a buck.....em.  Aren't we all  :nixweiss:

Let's guess - one of the rollers failed?

How'd you know? Yes one of the rollers was not rolling anymore. The tech said the bearing was completely gone.

Starting to see a pattern in this.  Now I'm worried for mine!

Only one?... I lost 3... one was far worse than the rest though.... the roller had bad flat spots...

OK, riding season approaches, and I'm still worried by the valve train racket my bike makes, so I thought I'd revisit this topic.  We're pretty well 6 months down the line, and I wondered if recommendations have changed?

Besides durability and longevity is their any performance benefits from installing the directional lifters?
