Yes as a matter of a fact it will but not by much depending on how good the replacement is!!!
if the sound of the engine cranking sounds unusual, your timing belt has snapped.
You have spun a cam drive, or snapped a belt? I am afraid you have damaged valves then.
it means starting of diesel engine
If the engine is "cranking" then it is "turning over". Please be more specific.
generally , cranking an engine is done with igniton where turning is done by hand with the ignition off so as it will not start
Generally, Cranking the engine refers to the initial process of any vehicular engine's start. Please also Refer: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/crank http://www.answers.com/topic/crank
Diodes get damaged when their reverse voltage or forward current ratings are exceeded. It is also possible that a high speed transient could exceed the forward voltage rating before the diode turns on, but this is not normally the case. In a car, primarily in the alternator, diodes get damaged by excessive current draw, or by connecting batteries backwards when jump starting. One way to get excessive draw is to attempt to rev the source engine while cranking the target engine - that is not a good idea - you should only rev the source engine when you are trying to add some charge to the target battery - you should let the source engine idle when cranking the target engine.
"The bus's engine stopped after the alternator belt snapped under the hood."The possessive noun is bus's (the engine of the bus).
Only if the valves come in contact with the pistons,I would replace the belt and check the compression in the cylinders,The engine will miss if there is a bent valve.I have had to replace the timing belt on my wifes car a couple of times with no engine damage after it broke.
This is a Mits engine, the waterpump is driven by the timing belt. When you take the timingbelt covers off you can see it at the top.
Static or cranking compression pressure is what each cylinderexperiences when the starter motor is turning the engine or whenthe engine is running at idle RPM. Dynamic compression is measure with all plugs installed but one. The compression is measured at that one plug hole when the throttle is snapped open for a split second.
For the 5.4 liter V8 engine in a 2001 E-350 the owners manual shows that the optional battery is 750 cold cranking amps ( they also show that the 6.8 liter V10 engine has a standard battery that is ( 650 cold cranking amps ) and the optional battery is ( 750 cold cranking amps )
