Closing my blog for a time.

Evening all.

It is with a sad heart I close my blog for the time being. I am currently working three jobs which I love and doing burlesque most weekends, but it leaves me little time to blog. I am saddened but I feel that letting people ask questions I dont have time to answer properly or promptly is harmful to their time and hair. For this reason I am closing until I feel able to re-open.
The FAQ and tutorials will remain as helpful documents for those needing help, and the search bar will often find you tagged answers to the question you have.
Try searching #damagedhair or #bleach for example.

thanks and best,

Mkatsi

to find out how.
Going from dark brown to white will be a long and damaging process so be carful and don’t rush it.

Hello! I have natural black hair, and i want to dye my tips with bleach london (i was thinking the colour bruised violet) and i want to do this without anything involved with bleach, i really want to dye the tips but everyone tells me i have to bleach it and i dont know what to do! Please help x

Sadly you’re dreaming for the impossible. To get brightly coloured hair you need to start with a clean base. Imagine a purple crayon trying to colour on black paper? It just wont work. You use that crayon on white paper though and suddenly the colour is easy to see. The same goes for your hair. You need to bleach it to get a light yellow before using a vegetable dye like bleach London (a terrible brand by the way, I would suggest using directions, special effects, manic panic or crazy colour instead).

Sadly the clue is even in the name of the brand..bleach london! They do kits for those who are new to using bleach that should help it be less scary however if you’re worried. Otherwise there’s not much option other than clip in extensions in purple to go under your natural hair atm. As its short you’d need a professional to put in something like shrinkies for you.

I Have answered all the questions in my inbox privately as they were so out of date.

I can only apologise and make it clear that I’m afraid this blog can no longer be a priority. I will get to any and all questions in due course, but you may have to wait for a reply. My apologies again.

Huge Apologies

Hello, I dyed my hair voodoo blue but it turned out some viridian-like blue-green. And the roots are green looking as well. I was wondering if I put a different blue dye over it, would it turn out blue? The kind of blue I want is Ramona Flowers blue. Thanks!

Hi, lots of people have blue problems going green!
SFX blue or directions midnight blue are the bluest blues. Often I think bleached hair reacts badly with blue and can go green and you just need to find one that matches your hair type. Sorry I can’t help more.
I know my bestie uses SFX blue velvet to combat the greenmeanies

I was wondering if you know the answer to my question. I have naturally light blonde hair and I want to dye it sliver/purple or a pastel is there a way to do this with out bleach also I'm worried about it fading. I don't want it to fade and look bad, will my hair go back to being it's natural color also any maintenance tips? Sorry I know it's quite a few questions but thank you for reading and taking your time to answer.

Sorry the reply is so late.
Your natural hair is light so the dye will work but without the bleach to make the hair a little porous, it will wash out very quickly and likely stain (it will stain bleached hair also, but you were worried about it washing out)

Maintaining lilac is a hard, and takes dedication. You’ll need to re-dye it or use a toner probably once a week to upkeep the colour.

Top tips for maintaining colour are:-

Wash in cold water

Wash only once or twice a week

Don’t over use products or heat treatment as these fade colour quickly

Don’t use medicated or clarifying shampoo
